The construction of East Freeport Pump Station was started in October 1986 with a contract price of $706,600.00 that was awarded to Allis-Chalmers Pump Company for the equipment. The contract for construction of the station contract was awarded to Temple Associates, Inc. for $1,942,000.00 in May of 1989.

East Freeport Pump Station is capable of pumping 160,000 gallons per minute.
