Clute/Lake Jackson

The construction of Clute-Lake Jackson Pump Station started in August 1975 with a contract price of $1,512,346.00 to Byron Jackson Pump Division for the equipment. The contract for construction of the station went to A. A. Cross Construction Company for $2,698,000.00 in April of 1977. The original Clute-Lake Jackson Pump Station Phase I is capable of pumping 660,000 gallons per minute. In 1980 the District position itself to add additional pump capacity. The District awarded additional pumping equipment in the amount $726,405 to Allis Chalmers. The equipment additions contract for the additional pump amounted to $134,912 and increased the pumping capacity to 910,000 gallons per minute.

Construction of Phase II started in July 2005 with a contract price of $12,974,000.00 to Cajun Construction and was completed in 2009. The District purchased four pumps from the Patterson Pump Company for $4,800,000. The pumping capacity of Phase II is 1,040,00 gallons per minute. Bringing the total pumping capacity to 1,950,000 gallons per minute when running Phase I and Phase II.
