The contract for construction of the station went to Fisher Construction Company for $719,506.00 in May of 1968 and took 450 calendar days to complete. (June 1970) West End Pump Station is capable of pumping 450,000 gallons per minute. The station also has one electric pump that is capable of pumping 50,000 gallons per minute.
